Vertex Portal

Cookie Policy

Effective date: 1 October 2026

The short version: this site does not use cookies. This page explains what that means in practice, and what does still happen when you visit.

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so the site can recognise the browser when it comes back. Cookies are used for things such as keeping you signed in, remembering settings, measuring visits and showing targeted advertising.

This site sets no cookies

Vertex Portal does not set any cookies of its own, and it does not allow any other company to set cookies through it. In particular, there are:

Because nothing is stored on your device, there is nothing to ask your consent for. That is why you will not see a cookie banner on this site. Showing one would suggest that cookies are in use when they are not.

What does happen when you visit

When your browser requests a page, the web server records an ordinary log entry: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the page requested and the time of the request. This is used for security and to diagnose faults, and the logs are deleted after 14 days. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.

The site uses only the fonts already installed on your device, so it makes no requests to font services or any other external server. Every file the page needs comes from this site.

If you click the affiliate link on this site, you leave Vertex Portal. The affiliate network and the vendor's website you arrive at may use cookies under their own policies, which you can read on their sites. This site does not control those cookies.

No other browser storage or fingerprinting

Cookies are not the only way websites can store information in a browser. This site does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or any similar technology. It does not attempt browser fingerprinting, meaning it does not combine details about your device or browser to recognise you. The small script the site uses only opens and closes the menu and the "On this page" list.

Managing cookies in your browser

Even though this site sets none, you may want to control cookies set by other websites. All major browsers let you view and delete stored cookies, block cookies from all sites or from particular sites, and block third-party cookies specifically. These options are usually found in the browser's settings under Privacy or Security. Your browser's help pages explain the exact steps for your version.

Blocking cookies will not affect how this site works, because it does not rely on them.

If this ever changes

If we ever decide to use cookies or similar technology, we will update this page before any cookie is set, describe each cookie and its purpose here, and put a working consent mechanism in place so that non-essential cookies are only set if you agree. The effective date at the top of this page will change when that happens.
